Jacobus Jan (Jac. J.) Koeman was a Dutch painter, draughtsman, sculptor, ceramist, etcher and lithographer. He was mostly self-taught. He created landscapes, including winter landscapes, cityscapes, still lifes, figure representations, nudes and portraits. His free work is considered part of the Bergen School. To the general public he is best known for his album pictures for the Verkade albums (animals, plants, flowers).
