Hendrikus Elias Roodenburg was a student of graphic artist Ch. L. Zilcken, one of the greatest topographical etchers of the last century. Roodenburg was a member of the artists’ associations Arti et Amicitae in Amsterdam and Pulchri Studio in The Hague.
