Who we are

With Ca-Art, we bring unique vintage maps, prints, cityscapes, and modern works within easy reach of collectors and enthusiasts who appreciate quality, craftsmanship, and expression. Each work is carefully selected, with attention to history, technique, and aesthetics.

In primary school, I copied all the geography maps. Studying Geodesy in Utrecht was a logical next step. My love for and knowledge of old maps took shape in Ca-Art, with the Ca for Cartography. Cityscapes are naturally part of that. From the 16th century onwards, cartographers traveled throughout Europe creating maps, and during the 17th century, there was also a demand for cityscapes and decorative art. The printing techniques used in these projects automatically led to my interest in prints. Since then, I have acquired extensive knowledge of a wide variety of printing techniques, and this has also further developed my interest in and knowledge of modern art.

In high school, I took art courses, both practical and theoretical. Art history classes were always fascinating. That’s why, during my Sociology studies in Amsterdam, I also took minors in Art History and Art Sociology.

It’s wonderful to immerse yourself in both a beautiful old craft and modern works. Each piece tells a piece of history and invites discovery, reflection, and appreciation. There are so many background stories and interpretations of works that I never stop learning about art.
